Developed starting from the El-Born prototype presented at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, the new Cupra Born is the first 100% electric model of the Spanish Brand, which has chosen the MIMO, Milano Monza Motor Show to present its latest creation to the world public. . Based on the MEB platform of the VW group, Cupra Born differs from the VW ID.3 with which it shares the floor, for its more aggressive and sporty shapes, in line with the stylistic language of Cupra.
Of course, there is no shortage of classic copper-colored inserts in the 20” Aero rims designed to optimize aerodynamic performance. Under the hood, the choice is between two 150 or 204 horsepower electric powertrains, coupled respectively to a 45 or 58 kWh battery.
In both cases, the torque of 310 Nm is transferred to the rear wheels through a single-speed gearbox, which allows the Born to sprint from 0 to 100 km / h in just 6.6 seconds in the most performing variant. The autonomy varies between 340 and 540 km and among the most curious features we find the adoption of a heat pump air conditioner to increase efficiency, a wallbox also available with 4G or wi-fi connectivity, and, of course, ADAS last generation.
